Vision & Scope
We begin each client engagement by working with you to determine the appropriate scope for your specific Sustainability Management System (SMS). This may range from a comprehensive global sustainability program to an initial pilot involving a single facility. We will also work with you to identify your specific stakeholders and the specific educational and reporting requirements specific to each category – client, employee, shareholder, supplier, etc.
This phase of work starts with the critical work of defining and/or refining your unique sustainability vision. This includes defining sustainability as it relates to your organization and committing to a sustainability policy that is aligned with the nature, scale and sustainability interests of your organization and its stakeholders. In some cases your organization may already have a sustainability policy. In either case, the policy will establish the direction and framework for the sustainability management system.
Ultimately combined with the sustainability footprint or existing conditions analysis and stakeholder engagement, the vision and scope will be the foundation upon which the sustainability management system will be built.
